In 2016, a new 83,000-square-foot YMCA facility was opened in downtown Kokomo. The $16 million project is a shining example of how public and private funding partnerships have impacted our community.

The project took a blighted, underused city block in downtown Kokomo and turned it into a hub of activity that improved the quality-of-life and economy of our community. The facility’s exterior fits in flawlessly with the urban core that surrounds it. Even if you never step a foot inside, everyone can enjoy the Y’s beautiful façade, plentiful windows and walkable streetscape.

Inside, the Y boasts a 172,000-gallon, state-of-the-art pool, eight basketball hoops, an indoor track, a racquetball court, and more.
